A bright tomato from the Dwarf Tomato Project. Compact and very tasty.

1. Original Name: Dwarf Russian Swirl.

2. History: Stabilized by the members of the Dwarf Tomato Project in 2011-2015. It originated from a cross between Golden Dwarf Champion and Orange Russian #117 made by Patrina Nuske Small in 2005 and named as Dopey. Later selected and named by Craig LeHoullier as Dwarf Russian Swirl. Released in 2015 as F8. It is a stable variety now.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Middle-size dwarf bush, growing up to 3.3 feet (100 cm) tall. Thick stem, large rugose regular leaves. Regular truss, 3-5 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: No training (pruning) is required. It is recommended to tie every big stem removing bottom leaves to promote air circulation. However, it is preferable to train the bush to 3-5 main stems with staking and pruning. Your tomatoes will be larger in size.

5. Shape and Weight: Smooth salad-type beefsteak fruits without any ribs. Weight: 5.3-7 oz. (150-200 g).

6. Color: Bi-color fruits. Large red spots on the yellow background in the upper part and on the sides of the fruits. The flesh is honey yellow in a cut and red in the middle when ripe.

7. Flavor Profile: A pleasant sweet taste with a bright spicy tomato flavor. The flesh is buttery and juicy.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice for tasty and rich salads. Also perfect for juices and sauces. Do not keep well as the fruits get too soft. The skin can have cracks so it is recommended to avoid heavy watering.

Dwarf Russian Swirl is a stable variety. It produced fruits until a frost. Bright and delicious.
