1. Original Name: AH Scorpii.

2. History: A variety from the USA. Developed by tomato breeder Dale Thurber in 2017 from a cross between Hoy (an old heirloom variety originating from West Virginia, USA) and Delicious. The variety was named after a red supergiant star named AH Scorpii and located in the constellation Scorpius.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing up to 6.5 feet (200 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. Regular truss, 3-4 large fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to train the bush to not more than two main stems, and pruning and staking are a must. It is also preferable to tie clusters with fruits.

5. Shape and Weight: Salad-type beefsteak fruits with shallow ribs (magnificent shoulders) near the stem end. Weight: 17.6-28.2 oz. (500-800 g) but you can produce fruits weighing up to 35 oz. (1 kg). Very large fruits.

6. Color: In spite of the fact this variety was named after a red star, the fruits are pink. The flesh is pink as well.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and slightly acidic. Bright tomato flavor. The walls are thick and meaty, and there can be small voids inside because of ribs. The flesh is sugary in a cut.

8. Culinary Use: One fruit is enough for a tasty salad. Also a good choice for juices and sauces.
