PACKAGING: Sachet Zip lock 12 - 15 SEEDS

1. Original Name: Siletz.

2. History: Bred by Dr. James Baggett of Oregon State University and introduced in 1994. An improved version of its parent variety, Oregon Spring, which is also present in our catalogue. Siletz does very well in cold climates. Siletz means a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, USA.

3. Plant Specifications: Early-season. A good choice for growing outdoors and in a greenhouse. Determinate sprawling bush, growing up to 2.6 feet (80 cm) tall. Dark green regular leaf. Regular truss, 4-5 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning is required. It is recommended just to tie the longest stems and to remove the bottom leaves as they grow so that the bush could get a good airflow and could not become too branchy.

5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits with barely visible ribs near the stem end. Weight: 3.5-5.3 oz. (100-150 g).

6. Color: Green with a dark green spot near the stem end at the mature-green stage. The fruits turn red when fully ripe.

7. Flavor Profile: A typical taste of a red tomato. Sweet and acidic with a bright tomato flavor. It is tasty enough for an early-season variety let alone the fact that we prefer green tomatoes mainly. The walls are very thick, the skin is firm and there are few seeds. The flesh is rather sugary.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice for fresh salads and thick sauces. Perfect for canning whole tomatoes. Cold tolerant in spring.
