1. Original Name: Zhefen Short.

2. History: An heirloom variety originating from China (Zhengjiang province). First introduced to the United States of America in 2001 by Gary Ibsen of TomatoFest, who received these seeds from a Chinese farmer from the Zhengjiang province (China).

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for growing outdoors but you can grow it in greenhouses as well. Determinate, short bush, growing up to 2.6 feet (80 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. Regular truss, 3-5 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning is required but it is necessary to tie the longest stems. This is a bush-type variety.

5. Shape and Weight
: Round fruits looking like apples. Weight: 3.5-7 oz. (100-200 g).

6. Color: Light pink with barely visible opalescent spots. The flesh is of an intense crimson color in a cut.

7. Flavor Profile: Delicious and sweet with pleasant tartness. Mild tomato flavor. The walls are thick but the flesh is juicy.

8. Culinary Use: Delicious in fresh salads. Perfect for juices and sauces. Also good for canning.
