Tomato Yamal

1. Original Name: Ямал, or Yamal. Also known as Yamal 200.

2. History: A variety originating from Russia. Developed by well-known Russian tomato breeder Vladimir Kozak. Entered on the State Register of the Russian Federation in 2007.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Determinate short bush, growing up to 1.6 feet (50 cm) tall. This variety is very prolific and beautiful. The fruits ripen all together so you can collect the entire harvest for two days.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning is required. But it is recommended to tie the stems otherwise the bush may fall over because of heavy fruits.

5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits. Weight: 2.8-3.5 oz. (80-100 g).

6. Color: Red.

7. Flavor Profile: Very tasty, sweet and slightly tart, with a bright tomato flavor. The flesh is juicy enough, and the walls are thick.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice both for eating fresh and for canning including canning whole tomatoes. Perfect for people with country houses and market growers.
