Schimmeig Stoo Tomato

1. Original Name: Schimmeig Stoo (which means 'striped cavern' in the Manx). Also known as Schimmeig Striped Cavern or Striped Cavern.

2. History: An open-pollinated heirloom variety originating from Germany.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Indeterminate tall bush, growing up to 6.5 feet (200 cm) tall and even higher.

4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to train the bush to two or three main stems, and staking and pruning are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: There are 4-5 large fruits per truss. Weight: 5.3-10.6 oz. (150-300 g). The shape of the fruits is very similar to that of bell peppers with flat tips. They have ribs and lobes as well, are empty inside and have thick walls. Just like in peppers, the seed cavities are small and concentrated near the stem end.

6. Color: An attractive color with golden streaks and stripes on the red background.

7. Flavor Profile: Refreshing sweet taste with a tomato flavor. The flesh is very firm.

8. Culinary Use: This variety was developed for stuffing and baking. Also a good choice for sun-drying and freezing.
