1. Original Name: Secret Sauce (Short).
2. History: Bred by Brad Gates (Wild Boar Farms). A sister to Secret Sauce (Tall), which is an indeterminate variety. Released in 2016.
3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Semi-determinate, medium-size bush, growing up to 3.3-4 feet (100-120 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. There are 4-6 fruits per truss.
4. Training Instructions: It can be trained to three or four main stems, and staking and pruning are a must.
5. Shape and Weight: Smooth round and plum-shaped fruits. Weight: 3.5-5 oz. (100-150 g).
6. Color: Bright red. The flesh is red and crimson in a cut.
7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and slightly tart, with a tomato flavor. The flesh is sugary and meaty, and the walls are thick.
8. Culinary Use: The very name of this variety means that it is perfect for different sauces, ketchups, borscht dressing or tomato paste. Also delicious in fresh salads.
