1. Original Name: Long Keeper. Also known as Burpee’s Long Keeper.

2. History: This variety has been well-known since the 1970s. First introduced by Burpee in 1979. The origin of the variety is natural, which means that it originated from the bushes that produced late harvest. Their seeds made it possible to create a stable line.

3. Plant Specifications: Late season. Determinate, medium-size bush, growing up to 3.3-4 feet (100-120 cm) tall. The leaves curl upward as if reaching for the sun, which is a particular characteristic of this variety. The flowers are produced late in the season. Fully ripe fruits are harvested and can be used at once. At the same time, unripe tomatoes are harvested right before frost and allowed to ripen at room temperature or in a dry cool basement. It is necessary to check whether the fruits are unblemished before storing them. If any fruits are blemished you should take them away to avoid spoiling the unblemished ones.

4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to train the bush to two or three main stems. Staking is a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits. Weight: 2.5-3.2 oz. (70-90 g).

6. Color: Pale-yellow. The fruits turn orange on the side exposed to the sun if the fall is warm. They are of a more intense orange color in a cut.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweeter than other late-season tomatoes. The flavor is not bright but it is not very important as you can have fresh tomatoes in winter. The walls are firm and crisp, and the flesh is slightly sugary.

8. Culinary Use: Perfect for long-term storage. These tomatoes are sure to stay fresh until the New Year!
