1. Original Name: Black Pineapple. Also known as Ananas Noire (in French).

2. History: A rare variety originating from Belgium. A result of a natural cross between Pineapple and an unknown black tomato. Stabilized by Belgian tomato breeder Pascal Moreau. First offered in the Seed Savers 2003 Yearbook by Luc Fichot (Belgium), who received the seeds from Pascal Moreau. Released in 2005.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Tall bush, indeterminate, growing up to 6 feet (180 cm) tall. A heavy cropper.

4. Training Instructions:
It is recommended to train the plant to one or two main stems, and staking and pruning are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Salad-type beefsteak fruits. Weight: 7-10.6 oz. (200-300 g).

6. Color: The fruits are bronze and green at the mature-green stage and turn dark red and green when fully ripe. The flesh is bi-colored as well.

7. Flavor Profile: Very sweet with a well-balanced tomato and fruity flavor. The flesh is juicy and meaty enough.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice for eating fresh and canning as juices, paste and sauces.
