1. Original Name: Aviuri. Also known as Aviuri Bicolor, Yablochnye or Yablochnyi Okras.

2. History: A variety originating from Russia. The variety dates back to the late 1980s. Its name is an abbreviation of the names of the breeders who developed this variety. First offered in the Seed Savers 1997 Yearbook by Glenn Drowns of Iowa (USA).

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Determinate, short bush, growing 2.6 feet (80 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. There are 4-5 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: No training is required but it is recommended to tie the longest stems.

5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits looking like striped apples from far. Weight: 6.3-7.8 oz. (180-220 g).

6. Color: Multicolored with yellow stripes and streaks on the red background. Red in a cut.

7. Flavor Profile:
Sweet and slightly tart. Firm with thick walls. Tomato flavor.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice both for eating fresh and for canning. The fruits can also keep well after harvesting for some time.
