Tomato 'Aussie Drop'

1. Original Name: Aussie Drop.

2. History: A release by the Dwarf Tomato Project. Developed by Patrina Nuske Small (Australia) from a cross between Kangaroo Paw Brown and Purple Russian. Introduced Victory Seed Company in 2020.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for growing outdoors but it is suitable for greenhouses as well. Determinate short bush, growing up to 3.3 feet (100 cm) tall. Thin stem, twisted regular leaves. Regular truss, 3-5 fruits per truss. The plant produces clusters a little later than other varieties.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning is required but it is necessary to tie all of the longest stems. This is a bush-type variety.

5. Shape and Weight: Round and smooth pepper-shaped, round and pepper-shaped or tapered fruits. Weight: 3.5-5.3 oz. (100-150 g).

6. Color: Brown. The flesh is red and brown.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweet with almost no tartness. Intense tomato flavor. The flesh is very meaty and sugary in a cut, and there are few seeds.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice for making fresh salads, thick sauces, ketchup and canning whole tomatoes.
