Large pink oxheart tomatoes. Resistant to bad weather conditions.

1. Original Name: Unknown. This is an old variety originating from Minusinsk and named after this town.

2. History: Minusinsk varieties have been well known in the Krasnoyarsk Territory since the late 19th century. They were first introduced by Decembrists sentenced to exile. The area (Minusinsk Hollow) was good for growing vegetables. In 1913, local tomato breeder Starukhin managed to grow a fruit weighing 26 oz. (745 g). This variety was named Minusinsky or Minusinskiye.

3. Plant Specifications: Early-season. It is more successful in a greenhouse. Indeterminate, medium-size bush, growing 4-5 feet (130-160 cm) tall. Thin stems, regular leaf. Regular truss, 3-4 large fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: It is preferable to train the bush to two or three main stems. The plant looks weak so staking and pruning are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Large and round heart-shaped fruits with flat pointed ends. Sometimes there are few shallow ribs near the stem end. Great weight. The fruits may weigh up to 10.5-14 oz. (300-400 g) or even more. Sometimes they may weigh up to 35 oz. (1 kg) when flowering is controlled and good fertilizers are used.

6. Color: Hot pink, very beautiful. Pink in a cut as well.

7. Flavor Profile: Wonderful delicious sweet flavor of pink tomatoes. It is impossible to stuff yourself with tomatoes like these. The flesh is glossy and meaty but also very juicy.

8. Culinary Use: Perfect for salads – a lot of salads! Ideal for excellent juices to be canned. Do not keep well after harvesting. The fruits tend to crack when the plants get too much water too fast.

Minusinskiye tomatoes are a stable variety with large and delicious fruits. Above all, they are cold tolerant!
