1. Original Name: Cuban Black.

2. History: Unknown so if you know anything about the origin of this variety you are to welcome to provide this information in a comment for its description.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Perfect for growing both outdoors and in a greenhouse. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing up to 6.5 feet (200 cm) tall. Thin stem, narrow regular leaf. Regular truss, 4-6 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: It is preferable to train Cuban Black to two main stems. Pruning and staking are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Pepper-shaped elongated fruits, sometimes with numerous shallow ribs, which is a sign of its meaty flesh. Weight: 8.8-10.5 oz. (250-300 g).

6. Color: Deep and intense dark red and brown, sometimes with a small green spot near the stem end. The flesh is red and brown in a cut.

7. Flavor Profile: Very sweet and well-balanced taste with a bright tomato flavor and a spicy aftertaste. The flesh is meaty, sugary and soft but the walls are very fleshy so there are few seeds and little juice.

8. Culinary Use: Cuban Black is a universal variety so it is perfect for both salads and canning. The flesh can be sun-dried. The fruits keep well for up to one week after harvesting, and there are no cracks on the skin.
A stable variety and a very sweet heavy cropper. Just amazing!
