1. Original Name: KBX. Also known as Kellogg’s Breakfast Cross or Kellogg’s Breakfast Potato Leaf as KBX stands for K (Kellogg’s), B (Breakfast) and X (cross).

2. History: Selected and introduced by Martha Hufford (USA). The selection was conducted since 2003 from Kellogg’s Breakfast with regular leaves. The KBX variety has potato leaves. Martha assumes that KBX can sometimes have regular leaves as well.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing up to 6.5 feet (200 cm) tall. Thick stem, broad potato leaves. There are 3-5 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to train the bush to two main stems, and staking and pruning are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Flattened and round fruits, sometimes with rare shallow ribs near the stem end. Weight: 10.6-17.6 oz. (300-500 g).

6. Color: Bright orange.

7. Flavor Profile: Delicious and sweet with pleasant tartness. The flesh is meaty, buttery and juicy enough.

8. Culinary Use: Perfect for fresh salads, juices, sauces and canning.
