Tomato 'Garden Pearl'

1. Original Name: Garden Pearl. Also known as Gartenperle.

2. History: An heirloom variety originating from Germany. The details of its origin are unknown.

3. Plant Specifications: Early-season. Short bush, determinate, growing up to 1-1.1 foot (30-35 cm) tall. Hanging and sprawling bush. You can grow these tomatoes in baskets, planters or large pots in your balcony or in your yard. If you are tired of growing petunias in planters you can grow Garden Pearl tomatoes instead. Perfect for growing outdoors as well. Very decorative.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning or staking is required.

5. Shape and Weight: The plants have few leaves but a lot of fruits weighing 0.6-0.7 oz. (16-20 g).

6. Color: Bright pink being slightly opalescent near the stem end.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and acidic, with a tomato flavor. The walls are a little crisp but the flesh is juicy.
