A real catch with an amazing color and taste!

1. Original Name: Copper River.

2. History: Bred by Lynn Brown of Napa Valley (California, USA).

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for a greenhouse and outdoors. Indeterminate, medium-size bush, growing 5-6 feet (150-180 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. Regular truss, 3-4 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: This variety is a heavy cropper if you train the plant to two main stems. Pruning and staking are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Large beefsteak fruits of the salad type, often with shallow ribs near the stem end. Weight: 7-17.6 oz. (200-500 g) and more.

6. Color: a real catch for picky gardeners. Many people have already admired tomatoes with green fruits. But Copper River has multicolored fruits with a tint of green. At first the fruits are green. They can still be green even when soft and ripe. However, different fruits have different swirls of bronze, light-green, ocher-yellow, yellowish and pink marbling when fully ripe. Later fruits turn almost brown, which means it is high time to pick them! The best moment for harvesting is when fruits are rather green with some pink or brown marbling in the upper part. However, you can tell whether your fruits are ripe judging by their softness. The color may be different depending on the light and you can miss the right moment for harvesting.
The flesh looks like a real painting to be admired during the winter. The main background is green with light pink marbling. The fruits look like multicolored flowers or paintings!

7. Flavor Profile: When we read reviews about this variety we already knew it is tasty and now can fully confirm it is really so. This taste is well-balanced being sweet and slightly tart. Pleasant fruity flavor. The flesh is buttery and can melt in your mouth. The fruits are meaty, which means that their walls are thick. However, there is enough juice as well. There are almost no photos of the seeds as the flesh is too meaty.

8. Culinary Use: Perfect for making full-flavored exotic salads, amazing juices and sauces to remind you of summer during the winter.

Copper River has proved to be a stable variety and a heavy cropper with large fruits. It is a unique and beautiful tomato! Some tomato breeders have reported that they had plants with potato leaves. However, it is a minor variation having no effect on the harvest or color and taste of the fruits. Our plants had regular leaves.
