The darkest tomato in the world!

1. Original Name: Black Beauty.

2. History: Bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farm (California, USA). A cross between Pink Berkeley Tie-Dyu and Indigo Apple. It took five years to select it. As a result, everyone can now taste this unique masterpiece developed by Wild Boar Farm (Brad’s tomato farm). Tomato junkie Dave Kaiser tasted it at the 2015 exposition and proclaimed it to be the most delicious tomato he had ever eaten.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. It can produce fruits for a long time. Perfect for growing both in a greenhouse and outdoors. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing up to 6.5 feet (200 cm) tall. Medium-thick stem, regular leaf. Regular truss, sometimes double truss. There are 5-6 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: It can be trained to one, two or three main stems. Pruning and staking are a must.

5. Shape and Weight: Beefsteak fruits. Weight: 5.3-7 oz. (150-200 g).

6. Color: This is the darkest tomato among all tomato varieties. The level of anthocyanin is very high. The fruits turn absolutely black, especially when exposed to the sun. The flesh is dark red.

7. Flavor Profile: An excellent taste being very sweet and slightly acidic. A bright tomato and fruity flavor. The flesh is buttery. The fruits are quite meaty and juicy enough.

8. Culinary Use: It is recommended to eat them fresh because anthocyanin is very useful for human health (both for kids and adults). It is a shame to use such wonderful tomatoes for canning. It is a long-keeping variety and the fruits can keep well. They can also stay on the bush for a long time.

Black Beauty was introduced as a stable variety in 2015. The plants may produce fruits being not so dark and sweet if the bushes have too many leaves or there is too much shade.
