1. Original Name: Dwarf Shadow Boxing. The word 'round' is not a part of the original name – we added it to the name just to indicate the difference from the original version of Dwarf Shadow Boxing.

2. History: Not related to the Dwarf Tomato Project. A popular variety developed by well-known tomato breeder Tom Wagner (USA). It has become popular due to the fact that this recent variety has demonstrated several different fruit shapes and bush habits. As Tom Wagner says on his forum, “The Shadow Boxing lines I have are showing great disparity of many traits. I am not sure how I am going to settle out all the strains.” So it is right to name these different variants as lines. There is a popular line with elongated icicle-shaped fruits. We have been growing tomatoes of this shape for a few years. The variant with elongated fruits also has a different height of the bush being up to 2.6-4 feet (80-120 cm).

In 2019, we found and purchased the seeds of Dwarf Shadow Boxing with round fruits. Other tomato breeders may have plum-shaped fruits in rare cases. We think it is useful to present this variant of Dwarf Shadow Boxing as an indication of recent varieties (or lines) being capable of crossing and not being stable in all cases. However, due to the selection and stabilization process we can have varieties with different colors and shapes of the fruits, which are worth our attention and admiration. Crossover can be a real jewel revealed with disappointment at first but later becoming a part of the history.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. A good choice for growing outdoors and in a greenhouse. Determinate dwarf bush, growing up to 2.6 feet (80 cm) tall. Large rugose leaf. Regular truss, 5-6 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning is required. It is recommended just to tie the longest stems and to remove the bottom leaves as they grow so that the bush could get a good airflow and could not become too branchy.

5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits. Weight: 1.8-2.5 oz. (50-70 g).

6. Color: An amazing and fascinating color. Swirls of yellow and orange or flame-colored stripes and streaks on the red background. Due to the sunlight exposure, the fruits are inky blue near the stem, which is caused by anthocyanin.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and slightly tart, well-balanced, with a slightly spiced tomato flavor. The fruits are juicy but the walls are thick.

8. Culinary Use: Very beautiful fruits perfect to be served as whole fruits or cut in half. Very delicious in salads. Also a good choice for any canning as ketchup or sauces.
