1. Original Name:
De Barao Black.

2. History: A variety bred by amateur tomato breeders and originating from Brazil. The word 'barao' means 'baron' in Portuguese so the name of this variety is translated as 'black baron'. The variety became popular in Russia and other CIS countries in the 1990s. Entered on the State Register of the Russian Federation in 1997.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Indeterminate, tall bush, growing up to 6-6.5 feet (180-200 cm) tall. Thick stem, regular leaf. Regular truss, 4-7 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to train the bush to three or four main stems.

5. Shape and Weight: Oval or egg-shaped fruits. Weight: 2.1-2.8 oz. (60-80 g).

6. Color: Dark brown (a very interesting color).

7. Flavor Profile:
Pleasant sweet and slight acidic taste with a mild spicy flavor similar to that of many brown tomatoes. The flesh is firm and the walls are very meaty.
