PACKAGING: Sachet Zip lock 12 - 15 SEEDS

1. Original Name: Crimson Sprinter.

2. History: Developed by Professor T. Graham in Guelph, Ontario (Canada). This variety was bred for growing in cool conditions.

3. Plant Specifications: Early-season. A good choice for growing outdoors and in a greenhouse. Determinate sprawling bush, growing up to 3.2 feet (100 cm) tall. Regular leaf. Regular truss, 4-5 fruits per truss.

4. Training Instructions: No pruning is required. It is recommended just to tie the longest stems and to remove the bottom leaves as they grow so that the bush could get a good airflow and could not become too branchy.

5. Shape and Weight: Round fruits with barely visible and shallow ribs near the stem end. Weight: 3.5-5.3 oz. (100-150 g).

6. Color: The fruits are light green at the mature-green stage. They turn red at first appearance when fully ripe. But in spite of its red color this variety carries the crimson gene as reported in numerous foreign sources. Red tomatoes are usually of a lighter color and do not have such a deep color as Crimson Sprinter, which is dark red and crimson. The crimson gene is responsible for high lycopene content in fruits. Lycopene works as an antioxidant in our body reducing oxidative stress. And now it is time for a warm-up activity: try to pronounce the systematic name of lycopene – octamethyldotriacontatridecaene. Now you will definitely remember the name of this variety – Crimson Sprinter.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweet and acidic with a bright tomato flavor. The flesh is meaty and rather sugary. The walls are thick but there is a lot of juice as well. The skin is firm.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice for fresh salads and thick sauces. Perfect for canning whole tomatoes. Cold tolerant in spring. A heavy cropper that transports well and can produce fruits until a frost.
