1. Original Name: Zulu.

2. History: A rare variety originating from Poland. There is no detailed information about this variety but its name (Zulu) sounds like an alien artifact, an Indian treasure or an African spell so you will never forget it. But here is a possible explanation: Zulu is one of the most widely spoken home languages in South Africa and they obviously liked this word in Poland.

3. Plant Specifications: Mid-season. Suitable for growing in a greenhouse and outdoors. Medium-size plant, growing 1.4-1.8 feet (40-50 cm) tall.

4. Training Instructions: It is recommended to tie the longest stems so that they do not break because of heavy fruits. The entire bush can bend or fall down on soft soil after heavy rains.

5. Shape and Weight: Three- or four-lobed cube-shaped fruits. Weight: 5-5.6 oz. (140-160 g).

6. Color: The fruits are dark blue (due to anthocyanin) at the mature-green stage. They mature to red with blue marbling resembling live coals.

7. Flavor Profile: Sweet, juicy and crisp. The walls are medium thick being about 0.12-0.16 in. (3-4 mm) thick.

8. Culinary Use: A good choice for fresh salads, canning, canning for winter or freezing.
